I hope this email finds you channeling any agonizing into organizing! There is a lot of work to do between now and November. Electing leaders who are data-driven and put their constituents ahead of their donors has never felt more important to me. That is why I am supporting Daniel Blackman for Public Service Commissioner.

When I was first exploring a run for the Public Service Commission back in 2017, I was fortunate to meet Daniel. His knowledge of the issues, empathy for people, and unbridled energy impressed me, deeply. He stood by my side for the entirety of my campaign. He further opened my eyes to issues of equity and the needs across Georgia.

All the cracks and fragilities in our society, which we knew were there, have been laid bare by this pandemic and are impossible to ignore. They have been exacerbated by a complete absence of coordinated response on the part of our Governor and President. As an example, our most essential workers cannot pay their essential bills. All the while, Georgia’s current Public Service Commissioners continue to write blank checks to failing projects like Plant Vogtle.

When this pandemic ends – and it will end – we cannot “go back to normal”. We must emerge better than ever. Foremost, this means electing leaders NOW, who can build our resilience and ensure our strength in facing whatever comes at us in the future.

Daniel Blackman has been doing this work. He will make a great Public Service Commissioner. Daniel will listen. Daniel will fight. And with your support, Daniel will win.

Please join me in supporting Daniel Blackman, with your vote in the Democratic Primary, and in November.

Stay healthy.

Daniel Blackman is a respected community leader, impact investor, and policy advisor committed to fighting for environmental justice, public health, and political empowerment to uplift America’s most vulnerable communities.  He is a candidate to serve on Georgia’s Public Service Commission District 4.

“Working Families should not have to choose between keeping the lights on or putting food on the table; and Senior Citizens on fixed incomes should never have to choose between paying for their medications or their home energy bill. The People of Georgia deserve a fearless and consistent voice on their Public Service Commission. I would be honored to be that voice, and even more honored to earn your support.” —Daniel Blackman, Candidate, Georgia’s Public Service Commission District 4.
